7-Day Atlantic Coast & Sahara Desert Adventure

Discover the extraordinary diversity of southern Morocco on this immersive 7-day journey, where the Atlantic coastline, majestic mountains, authentic Berber culture, and the endless Sahara Desert combine to create an unforgettable travel experience.

Beginning in the vibrant city of Marrakech, the adventure leads west to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Essaouira, renowned for its historic medina, fortified sea walls, colorful fishing port, and thriving artisan culture. Continuing south along Morocco’s Atlantic coast, you’ll admire spectacular ocean scenery, visit traditional fishing villages, and witness the famous argan trees, often occupied by climbing goats.

The journey then explores Morocco’s cultural treasures, including the silver-making town of Tiznit, the peaceful coastal village of Mirleft, and the breathtaking red sandstone arches of Legzira Beach. From the coast, the route heads inland through the dramatic Anti-Atlas Mountains to the picturesque oasis town of Tafraoute before reaching the historic walled city of Taroudant.

Your adventure reaches its highlight in the magnificent Erg Chigaga Desert, Morocco’s largest and most remote sand dunes. Experience an unforgettable camel trek at sunset, spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp beneath a sky filled with stars, and enjoy authentic Moroccan hospitality around the campfire.

The journey continues through the historic caravan towns of M’Hamid, Tamegroute, and Zagora before crossing the lush Draa Valley, home to thousands of date palms and centuries-old kasbahs. Finally, discover the legendary UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou before crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and returning to Marrakech.

This carefully designed itinerary perfectly balances coastal beauty, mountain landscapes, rich cultural heritage, historic kasbahs, and the magical experience of the Sahara Desert, making it one of Morocco’s most complete travel experiences.
