Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier → Chefchaouen
Your journey begins in Tangier, a vibrant port city where the Mediterranean meets the
Atlantic. After departure, travel through the scenic Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen,
famous for its blue-washed streets and relaxed mountain atmosphere. Upon arrival, explore
the charming medina, wander through narrow alleyways painted in shades of blue, and enjoy
views of the surrounding hills. Spend the night in Chefchaouen, experiencing its peaceful
ambiance and traditional Moroccan hospitality.
Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes
Leave Chefchaouen in the morning and drive toward the remarkable Roman ruins of
Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics and ancient
columns. After exploring the site, continue to the imperial city of Meknes, where you can see
historical landmarks such as Bab Mansour and the old medina. Later, travel onward to Fes for
an overnight stay.
Day 3: Fes City Tour
Spend the day discovering the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco in Fes. Explore the
ancient medina of Fes el-Bali, a maze of narrow streets filled with souks, mosques, and
traditional workshops. Visit historic sites such as Al Quaraouiyine University and the colorful
leather pits of Chouara Tannery. The day offers a deep look into Morocco’s rich history,
craftsmanship, and daily life.
Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Erfoud → Merzouga
Depart from Fes and head south toward Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for
its alpine architecture and clean streets. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains,
passing cedar forests where you may see Barbary macaques, before reaching Erfoud, known
for its fossils and desert gateway location. The journey continues to Merzouga on the edge of
the Sahara Desert, where you will spend the night near the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert Experience
Enjoy a full day in Merzouga surrounded by the dramatic dunes of Erg Chebbi. You can hike
through the desert landscape, visit nearby nomadic communities, and experience the
tranquility of the Sahara. Many travelers also enjoy camel trekking across the dunes,
especially at sunrise or sunset when the desert colors are most spectacular. Spend another
night in Merzouga under the star-filled desert sky.
Day 6: Merzouga → Todgha Gorge → Dades Valley → Rose Valley → Skoura
Leave Merzouga and drive toward the towering canyon walls of Todgha Gorge, one of
Morocco’s most impressive natural landscapes. Continue through the beautiful Dades Valley
with its dramatic rock formations and kasbahs, then pass through Rose Valley, known for its
fragrant rose fields and local cosmetic products. End the day in the palm-filled oasis of
Skoura for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Skoura → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
On the final day, travel to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the
famous Atlas Studios where many international movies were filmed. Continue to the
