Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz

Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech.

Cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way to admire panoramic views and traditional Berber villages.

Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous fortified village. After exploring the kasbah, enjoy lunch before travelling to Ouarzazate.

In the afternoon, follow the beautiful Draa Valley to the charming oasis town of Agdz, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse or riad.

Meals: Dinner

Day 2: Agdz – Zagora – M’Hamid – Erg Chigaga Desert

After breakfast, continue south through the Draa Valley, passing thousands of palm trees, ancient kasbahs, and traditional villages.

Reach M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last settlement before the Sahara Desert.

From here, travel by 4×4 across spectacular desert landscapes to the towering dunes of Erg Chigaga, Morocco’s largest and most remote sand dunes.

Upon arrival, enjoy a camel ride across the golden dunes as the sun sets over the Sahara.

After dinner, relax around the campfire while listening to traditional Berber music beneath an incredible blanket of stars.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga – Iriki National Park – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

Wake early to admire a magical Sahara sunrise before enjoying breakfast at camp.

Leave the desert by 4×4, crossing the vast landscapes of Iriki National Park and the dry bed of Lake Iriki before arriving in Foum Zguid.

Continue through the Berber town of Taznakht, famous for its handmade carpets, before crossing the High Atlas Mountains on the return journey to Marrakech.

Arrive in Marrakech in the early evening, where your unforgettable Sahara adventure comes to an end.

October to April offers the most comfortable temperatures for exploring the Sahara, with warm days and cool evenings.

May remains a good time to travel, although temperatures begin to rise.
