Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Aït Bouguemez Valley
Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech toward the
spectacular Ouzoud Waterfalls, one of Morocco’s most beautiful natural sites.
Surrounded by olive groves and dramatic red cliffs, the cascading falls offer a
refreshing start to your journey. After enjoying the scenery and perhaps spotting
wild monkeys, continue through the scenic Middle Atlas landscapes toward the
hidden paradise of Aït Bouguemez, known as the “Happy Valley.” Nestled
between majestic mountains, this peaceful valley offers traditional Berber
villages and lush terraced fields. Overnight stay in a charming guesthouse in Aït
Bouguemez.
Day 2: Aït Bouguemez – Kalaat M’Gouna – Dades Valley
After breakfast, travel through winding mountain roads and traditional villages
toward Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its annual Rose Festival and fragrant rose
products. Continue along the scenic Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, where
ancient fortified villages dot the landscape. Arrive in the dramatic Dades Valley,
renowned for its striking rock formations and lush oasis scenery. Spend the
night in Boumalne Dades, surrounded by towering cliffs and panoramic valley
views.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Today’s journey takes you further south toward the gateway of the Sahara. Pass
through impressive desert landscapes and palm-filled oases before reaching
Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and desert atmosphere. Continue to
Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi rise majestically on the
horizon. In the afternoon, embark on a camel trek across the dunes, witnessing a
magical Sahara sunset. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and music under the
stars before overnighting in a desert camp in the heart of the dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Agdz – Aït Ben Haddou
Wake early to admire the unforgettable Sahara sunrise before returning by camel
or 4×4. After breakfast, visit Rissani, a historic town and former trading center
known for its lively traditional market. Continue through the scenic Draa Valley,
Morocco’s longest river valley, lined with endless palm groves and ancient
kasbahs. Travel onward to the iconic fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou, a
UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous filming location. Overnight in a
traditional riad near the kasbah.
Day 5: Aït Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, explore the remarkable ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, walking
through its ancient clay architecture and panoramic hilltop views. Later, cross
